Hello everyone! So apparently I created this a long time ago but just never got around to getting started on it, so here we go! I have no idea if anyone will even be reading this, but it will be a fun way to keep track of things for myself either way. So I'll start off with my date with a man I will nickname 'Glasses' because he wore really cool glasses :p
I met Glasses on the dating app Hinge, which is an app where you choose three questions to answer, in addition to listing up to 6 photos. One of the questions I answered is 'what is something that surprises people about you?' and my answer is 'I don't like pizza. Or bacon.' I thought this would be a good thing to put because in the past I've dated a guy that only ever wanted to eat pizza and wings and it kind of got annoying arguing about what to get for dinner, haha! So I thought this was somewhat of a heads up and could start a conversation about favorite foods. So that's what got my convo started with Glasses. He said "More for me then. What would you rather have?" Now that I'm reading over it, we barely had any conversation before he asked me out! Hahah. I'm trying to say yes to anyone who seems decent so I agreed to meet up with him shortly after and he invited me to a free comedy event downtown. He told me that it was BYOB and proceeded to ask what I was going to bring.... This irked me a bit because I think it'd be nice for him to offer to bring a drink of my choice, but ok, ok, I'll look past it. Despite a couple of my friends telling me not to go on the date, I went :p
Conversation went smoothly to begin with some joking banter and then the event began. It was improv which I didn't realize... I was thinking like stand up comedy... and he was very amused from the start whereas I felt hella awkward. Hahah, it took a while for them to make me laugh but he laughed the whole time so I was thinking this might not be a good match. I'm sorry!! Sense of humor is important to me and it's almost as bad to be too easily amused than to not have a sense of humor at all!! Well anyways, after it ended, he asked what I wanted to do. We agreed to go get some food but it was pretty late at this point, after 10, so we had few options. We went to a nearby bar and shared calamari. I was pleasantly buzzed at this point so I skipped out on a drink and he had a beer. The conversation was good and he surprised me in certain ways! Like we talked about the last time he cried (I don't know how that came up!!) haha, and how I think it's a terrible thing that society expects men to act a certain way and keep in their emotions, and he agreed with me on that. A few other things to point out: he smelled REALLY good and had some nice arm muscles, haha!
ANYWAY, dude was super tall, so when he went in for a kiss at the end (and he did so very smoothly) I had to stand on the curb to reach him, haha. It was a nice enough kiss. Not amazing but not disgusting as they often can be.
And that's the end! I have a date with another man tomorrow so we'll see how that goes.
